This chutney is from Srivalli’s blog. This recipe Allam Tomato Pachadi,as she calls it, gives a different touch to the regular chutney. We had as a side dish with soft idli’s .This goes to Siri’s healing foods, hosted here with the theme Tomato.

I used:

Ripe tomatoes – 3,roughly chopped
Onion-1,chopped
Ginger-3″ piece
Red chilli -2
Oil-1 teaspoon
Salt to taste

To season:

Oil-1 teaspoon
Mustard- 1 teaspoon
curry leaves a few

  1. Heat oil in a pan and put in tomato, onion, ginger, red chilli and saute till the toamto is soft.
  2. Cool and make a paste with salt.I did not add extra water as the tomato was very ripe.Remove to a serving dish.
  3. Heat a small pan and put in the seasonings. When the mustard crackles pour over the chutney and mix well.

Serve as a side dish with a tiffin of your choice.

Sending this to  Priya’s Bookmarked recipes.

Bon Appetit…
